  • Thoughtfully Designed to provide learning opportunites in areas many family said they find difficult to provide at home such as: group activities, presentation skills, science labs, physical education, drama, music, dance, technology classes, field trips, Science Fairs, etc.
  • Encourage Community our goal is to facilitate each child's social experience and growth and give RCOA teachers opportunities to get to know the children they serve in a group environment. Many centres also provide social time for moms to get to know one another and occastionally offer workshops to encourage and inspire teaching parents as well.

These optional Resource Centre Classes have proven very popular, almost all of our students participate in the classes offered in their local community. Each Resource Centre serves between 20 and 50 students of varying grade levels providing them with regular opportunities to interact and build relationships in wonderful community of homelearners like themselves.

We view these centres as wonderful experiences of learning, and, we believe that they have been so successful because they are designed in response to the needs families in the geographical areas that they serve. . All parents are encouraged to give input into what they feel will strengthen and support their ability to learn at home. Please feel free to share your ideas for these centres through your local co-ordinator (Abbotsford, Duncan, Port Alberni, Surrey, Victoria and in 2008/2009 - Nanaimo) or the principal Mark Langley.
